Auteur is a highly thematic Economic-Strategy board game, about managing a movie-production studio, with Worker Placement with different workers elements and a unique Bumping mechanism. In the game, players are the Film-makers (Auteur) of an inchoate movie Studio that, during the 5 rounds the game lasts, try to make their studio the most successful there is! To achieve this, players hire Stars (Actors, Directors, Writers) and try to raise their fame. They gather crew, special guests and extras, upgrade their studio facilities, try to fund through sponsors and bank, promo their movies, and do everything they can, in order to produce their Films. To have their films premiered, they shall get through the five movie-production stages, during which they get evaluated (earn Prestige/Victory points). Meanwhile they try to follow the hype, fulfill their agendas, and generally do whatever they can to be in the Spotlight. Sometimes they manage to even win awards, but that's a hard thing to do....By the end, the one who managed to get the most out of their studio, is the winner! —description from the designer
