📖 About This Game
Brammangath (Cornish for 'Cats Fart') is a game for two players played over a number of rounds where players may choose to strategically end the game by spoiling their opponents scoring chances, from 1 point per stone in a Single Game; 2 points per stone in a Double Game and 3 points per stone for the player who wipes their opponent off the board!
Driven by a single die yet retaining tactical choices, Brammangath could be described as Cornish Backgammon, a traditional classic with a Cornish twist. It also comes with the Marric Games version of the Doubling Cube!
You take turns throwing the die and move one puck exactly that many squares. Capture your opponents if possible. If you cannot move any of your pucks you miss your turn. You must move if you are able to.
The game ends when no direct captures are possible, or a player has wiped their opponent off the board.
Collect points over a number of rounds.
As with all Marric Games the rules are easy to learn and game play is guaranteed to be addictive and tense, where defeat can be snatched out of the jaws of victory with a couple of throws.
Made locally in Cornwall with a wood board.
