Chief Hunt

The Battle of Chipyong-ri was an offensive battle launched by Chinese People's Volunteer Army troops against a fortified field position in Chipyong-ri, Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, in the early stages of the fourth campaign to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. After paying a heavy price, the Volunteer Army once broke through the UN's defensive positions, but due to poor coordination and lack of targeted tactics, they were eventually forced to withdraw from the battle under the resolute resistance of the UN Army. The fighting situation of this battle was unprecedentedly fierce, and it was the first time that the volunteer army failed in its attack on the US military in a large-scale combat in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
