📖 About This Game

Surface Action Imminent is the first module of Commit the Fleet, a planned series of modules to recreate naval battles of World War II. This module simulates surface naval actions from the smallest engagements to the largest fleet actions. Each ship is represented, a player can easily control a squadron of 4 capital ships. Time is somewhat variable (approx.6-12 minutes per turn), each hex is 5,000 yards. The game should end by around turn 12 (which will be determined based upon disengagement factors), due to ammunition expenditure and crew fatigue. This game is designed for miniatures, but counters can be used as well. Sequence of Play The game is played in a series of turns which follow this phase sequence: 1. Initiative (by hex) 2. Movement (by initiative) 3. Combat a. Plot Attacks b. Gunfire (by gun caliber, largest to smallest) c. Torpedo Attacks 4. End Phase a. Game end? b. damage control c.
