📖 About This Game

Convoy is played on a board with 48 circles. On each of the four sides are 4 circles colored red, green, blue, and yellow, to indicate players who own these colors. Each player takes four ships of his color and one cargo block of the same color. The object of the game is to transport the cargo across the board to any circle on the outside edge directly opposite. To commence, each player places his 4 ships on the 4 circles nearest him marked with squares of his color, and places the cargo on any ship he pleases. A move consists in moving a ship one circle at a time, backwards or forwards along the red line. A ship cannot be moved when it is carrying the cargo. When two or more ships of the same player are contiguous, i.e., on adjoining circles connected by the red line, the cargo may be shifted from one ship to another, or across several ships, if they are all connected by the red line. Shifting the cargo counts as one move and no movement of ships is allowed in that turn. No ship can be moved on to a circle occupied by an opposing ship, nor can he jump over such a circle. When a player finds one of his ships so blocked, he must move another ship, even if he has to move it backwards. The first player to convoy his cargo across the board is the winner. —user summary
