📖 About This Game

Las Ligas de la Ñ: Eñesutras ("The Ñ Leagues: Eñesutras") is an existential card game for 1 to infinite players. In this new Ñ game (the twelfth in the series), each card contains one or more quotes, either from the universe of The Ñ Leagues or from classic authors of Spanish and world literature. These quotes are accompanied by the title of the work, the author, and the historical period, and are classified by various themes (philosophy, religion, history, politics, art, science, love, humor…). Eñesutras stands midway between the sutras of Indian tradition (brief and concise texts from Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism that convey philosophical, religious, or spiritual teachings) and the I Ching (a Chinese work of sapiential and oracular literature filled with philosophical, ethical, and symbolic messages). In the multiplayer mode, players must dedicate quotes from the cards in their hand in the most justified and persuasive way possible, aiming to convince the rest of the players during the end-of-round voting. In turns, each player reads their chosen eñesutra aloud and dedicates it to another player (first stating the recipient, then reading the quote). The choice of recipient is entirely free, and the person receiving the card can choose to remain silent or deliver a comeback to gain popularity. At the end of each round (once all quotes have been dedicated), players vote in secret for their favorite player—without being allowed to vote for themselves. Each vote is worth 1 point, and the winner(s) of the round receive 3 bonus points. After the agreed number of rounds (1, 3, 5, 7…), the player with the most points wins. In the solo mode, the player must read ten full cards and reflect on their existence—without falling into an existential crisis. An alternative mode allows for anonymous dedications, where the quotes are written on paper or read in a neutral voice so that the rest of the players must guess who the dedication was meant for. In the case of the solo mode, you may always send a message by phone—or even indulge in nostalgia and send a romantic letter by traditional post. Moreover, this deck is compatible with other games in the series, such as The Ñ Leagues: Arcane Queens or The Ñ Leagues: Aces of Destiny, where quotes, arcana, and leagues intertwine and function as narrative oracles.
