📖 About This Game
MergaitÄ su šautuvu ("Girl with a Rifle") is an adventurous and thematic family board game inspired by the beloved book by Marius MarcinkeviÄius and Lina Itagaki. Step into the shoes of Lithuanian partisans - freedom fighters who waged guerrilla warfare across Lithuania against the Soviet occupiers from 1944 to 1953. Navigate forests, protect allies and complete secret missions while staying one step ahead of the enemy.
Working together as a team, players take turns planning their moves, using strategy, clever thinking and teamwork to successfully complete one mission card and four supply card objectives. Every decision matters - choose the wrong path and the stakes rise.
This game brings history and adventure to life, making it a perfect way for the whole family to engage, strategize and enjoy hours of cooperative fun. Freedom isn’t given - it’s earned, one choice at a time.
Gameplay Overview:
At the start of each turn, a player must move their meeple 1 space orthogonally on the map and collect the resource shown on that location. If they hold any action cards that match the collected resource, they may play them to gain additional resources or trigger one-time effects. At the end of their turn, the player draws 1 new action card.
All resources are shared among all players and are primarily used to acquire camouflage tokens, defense tokens and to complete stockpile cards. Each stockpile card requires a specific set of resources and must be completed at the indicated location. In the advanced variant, players can also purchase assistance cards which provide their owner ongoing special abilities.
After every two player turns, the enemy takes their turn. Two enemy cards are revealed, and both enemy meeples move in the shown directions. If an enemy enters a location with an unprotected player meeple or an exposed bunker, the danger level rises.
The players win by completing 4 stockpile cards and the mission objective before the danger level rises too high.
5 mission cards are included, each with unique thematic challenges such as delivering packages, ambushing enemy troops, laying landmines or fortifying defenses.
